Sep 5, 2008 - 4:48:21 PM By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor Karo Parisyan has been forced off of UFC 88 with a last minute back injury. The news was reported this afternoon on UFC.com, and the planned bout with Yoshiyuki Yoshida has been scrapped. The website also says that UFC 88 will go on with nine fights, and the Dong Hyun Kim fight with Matt Brown will air on the Pay Per View broadcast.
Penick's Analysis: It's unclear at the moment how the injury occurred, or exactly how long UFC's known about it, but it's a step back for Parisyan for sure. After being knocked out by Thiago Alves in April, he was looking to rebound in this fight. He's also stated recently that he had been suffering panic attacks, so I'm wondering if that hampered his training at all or if it could have had some part in the withdrawal. Either way, the Pay Per View card won't suffer much, and we'll hope he has a speedy recovery to get back into the Octagon again soon.

But sometimes you get technical masterpieces too, and to hate a beautiful, technical fight - you're not really a fight fan...
Diaz has a granite chin, possesses perhaps the best recovery in the sport, his pace and conditioning are second to none and he sets records with the volume of his punches almost every time he steps into the cage. Nick Diaz is simply designed to fight the way he fights, and not many other fighters are...
"There was a lot of poison going on around there and I'm really disappointed because we had a good thing going. It was a good thing and I think people's egos got in the way. Well, not people just Javier, his ego got in the way, and too many cameras in the gym and him trying to build himself up and his brand, his AKA brand...
