"Give it to Hendo. I ain't losing. Give it to Hendo. I don't care either way. You can give it to Hendo and there will still be a belt when I get there. There will still be a belt when I get there. I don't care who the person is that has the belt but there will be a belt when I get to it and that's all that I'm concerned about. If somebody else gets to fight the champ before I do, that's fine with me."
-UFC on Fox 2's Phil Davis talks to MMAMania.com about the light heavyweight title picture, saying he's fine not getting the next title shot with a win over Rashad Evans later this month.
Penick's Analysis: Davis is in no hurry to get to the top, he's simply been fast-tracked by success and getting the matchups to move him up the ladder. It started with moving into the slot against Rogerio Nogueira on short notice, and a win over Evans moves him up even higher, but that doesn't mean he needs to fight Jones right away even if he defeats Evans. Getting Dan Henderson into that fight and having Davis fight once more would not be a bad thing for him in the least, and like he says, there will still be a title to fight for by the time he gets there. It's a good attitude for him to have.
