Fedor Emelianenko halted his three fight losing streak last weekend, defeating Jeff Monson in Russia. Following the win, M-1 Global director of operations Evgeni Kogan took to Twitter to discuss what M-1 wants to see for "The Last Emperor" next.

Sending a Tweet to UFC President Dana White, Kogan said, "Fedor vs. Velasquez in 2012, let's make this happen. Fedor is back, and a fight [with] Cain will prove it."

White had already posted a "hell no" response on Twitter when asked by a fan if rumors of Emelianenko coming to the UFC were true, and considering the lengthy history of failed negotiations between the UFC and M-1, that's no surprise. However, Kogan added on Twitter that M-1 simply wants to see this fight happen, and wouldn't be asking for the same added concessions they have in the past.

"Not necessarily co-promotion. We just want to see this fight happen, that's all. No craziness, no weird terms," Kogan said in response to one commenter. Additionally, when someone asked "no co promotion, no stadium, no signed M-1 fighters. Just a Fedor contract?", Kogan's response was "If that's what it takes. It's time for things to be put right."

Penick's Analysis: The only way it would be remotely possible for Fedor to come into the UFC would be with a singular contract for Fedor alone. If M-1 is willing to step aside and just want Fedor to fight, perhaps a deal could finally be reached to see Emelianenko in the Octagon. But the demand isn't really there, and when he lost his last three most high-profile fights in Strikeforce, the UFC won't offer him much if they offer him anything at all. Is a fight between Emelianenko and Velasquez intriguing? Sure. But don't hold your breath on it happening.
