Last Sunday's UFC on Versus 5 event in Milwaukee featured a number of submission victories, but none was as brutal as Ed Herman's knee bar on Kyle Noke. The vicious hold had Noke yelling out in pain as he tapped, and definitely had Noke worried about the damage done to his knee.
But Noke got some good news after visiting doctors, as there was no serious injury to the knee and he's not going to be out for long.
According to a report at MMAWeekly.com, Noke's MRI revealed only a grade 2 sprain of the knee, with no tearing or more serious damage suffered. Per the report, his manager says he'll continue full rehab and may be back into the cage by the end of the year.
Penick's Analysis: That's great news for Noke. His knee twisted in disgusting fashion, and as Rich Hansen described during our Tuesday Livecast, it looked as if he had another hinge added to his leg below the kneecap. Somehow he walked away from that with nothing more serious than a sprain, and that's very good because bad knee injuries can be really detrimental to a fighter's longevity.
