We
start off with the aftermath of last week's fight between Cale
Yarbrough and Patrick Schultz. Dana White gave the 1st round to Patrick
10-9 but he gave the 2nd round to Cale 10-8. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson
storms off, yelling that his fight with Forrest Griffin won't go down
like that. Forrest is extremely upset and goes to the back where he
smashes a door to pieces. He absolutely crushed that thing, it's barely
on the hinges. He wants to fight now. Patrick comes into the dressing
room to apologize to Forrest for his comments moments earlier. He had
told Forrest to go back to his corner and be quiet.
The
next fight is Nick Klein vs. CB Dollaway. Nick is pretty nervous about
this fight. CB is a very tough wrestler but is a little conceited.
During a break in his team's training session Forrest walks in with anetgun. He fiddles with it a bit as his team spazzes. They're acting like it's a loaded 12 gauge. Forrest plans on shooting Rampage with the netgun
. And he does during Rampage's training session. Rampage hilariously
complains about being netted. You'd have to see it for yourself as I
can't do it justice with written words. He mainly talks about the
embarrassment of being netted on national television and how his family
will make fun of him now.
CB talks about
the upcoming fight and actually refers to himself in the 3rd person.
Maybe he's trying to get people to dislike him? During training CB and
Rampage roll and CB locks Rampage in a guillotine. I'm not sure how
hard Rampage was trying but CB did a good job either way.
Nick grew up on a farm and built up his strength doing chores. He has a good gameplan
and looks ready to go. He's feeling good and his coaches are excited.
Both men make weight. The most exciting thing that happened there was
that Nick was wearing boxers with monkeys on them. Rampage had to make
fun of that, of course. I have to agree, I don't think monkeys are a
good choice in this situation. It's bad enough having to strip down to
your underwear in front of a bunch of dudes but having monkeys on your
boxers is just asking to be made fun of.
FIGHT- CB Dollaway vs. Nick Klein
Nick has a slight 3/4 inch reach advantage. Both men are the same height. Steve Mazzagatti is the official.
ROUND
1- The quickly go to the ground and scramble around a bit. Nick very
nearly locks on a kneebar. CB takes his back but Nick is battling. CB
keeps hitting Nick in the back of the head and is warned. CB takes side
control. Nick is bleeding from the back of his head from the shots CB
threw earlier. They grope around a bunch and Nick tries for an armbar
as the round ends.
ROUND 2- Both
fighters throw some leg kicks. Nick grabs CB and falls onto his butt,
dragging them both down. CB takes Nick's back. Nick lands an upkick
while CB is kneeling and is warned. CB locks in a guillotine to end it.
WINNER- CB Dollaway by guillotine choke
We
still have time left in this episode before they announce the
quarterfinal match-ups so we see a shot of CB and Matthew Riddle by the
pool. They're both wearing the same kind of sunglasses. Cale starts
trashing them and gets CB riled up. To be honest, those glasses aren't
the coolest looking things I've ever seen. CB wants to fight Cale in
the quarters. We also finally get to see Amir Sadollah collect on his
bet with Forrest. Since Amir won his fight he gets to shave Forrest's
head in any way he wants. He chooses to go with the buzzcut and then he
adds in a few lines around the temple. Rampage has brought a squirt gun
into the training center and he douses Forrest with it. Forrest
produces a 2nd pair of shorts to wear but Rampage soaks them as well.
Payback isn't always pretty.
Dana,
Rampage, and Forrest meet in a back room to decide the quarterfinal
match-ups. They bring in the advancing 8 to get their opinions on whom
they'd like to fight. CB wants Cale. Amir wants either Cale or Dante
Rivera. Tim Credeur wants Daniel Cramer. Dante wants Daniel. Jesse
Taylor, Matt Brown, and Daniel don't really care.
Dana
announces the quarterfinal match-ups are Jesse vs. Dante, Amir vs.
Matt, Daniel vs. Tim, and CB vs. Cale. I only hope that CB is more
impressive against someone he has motivation to beat. His fight with
Nick was lackluster to say the least. Amir vs. Matt will be probably be
the best of these match-ups and I would predict that the winner of that
fight will be the eventual winner of this season. Without question the
best parts of this episode for me were seeing the door that Forrest
destroyed and Rampage's complaining about being netted by Forrest.
NEXT WEEK- Jesse fights Dante and Amir battles Matt in a war.
