The episode starts with a recap of Len Bentley being offended by Brock Lesnar chewing out Team Lesnar, Junior Dos Santos getting tired of his assistant Lew Polley overstepping his bounds, and last week's fight.
Junior is coaching his team up, letting them know that everyone loses sometimes. Lew chimes in and says they're there to win regardless. Junior tells Lew they need to be on the same page. Brock tells Len that he'll get picked for the Wild Card fight for sure because he had a close fight. During training Len hurts his knee while rolling around. Brock is very upset about the prospect of another of his guys going down.
Clay Harvison is at the hospital getting his finger checked out. It turns out that his finger was only dislocated. That's crazy. Len is also at the hospital. The doctor says his injury may not be a bad injury. He's really hopeful it's not bad.
At Team Dos Santos training, Junior reveals that Lew went to the house without Junior's knowledge. Junior is offended and discusses the matter with another assistant. It sounds like him and Lew are going to have it out.
Junior talks to Lew about going to the house without him knowing about it. Junior tells Lew to leave. Lew leaves, but doesn't think Junior is right about being upset. Len and Clay tell Brock the good news about their injuries. Len again says that he deserves a spot in the Wild Card fight. Brock has control over the fight pick and goes with Tony Ferguson vs. Justin Edwards. That means the final fight will be Chuck O'Neil vs. Zach Davis.
Brock thinks that Tony could possibly win the whole show. Tony has plenty of power in his hands and is a good boxer. Justin was the alternate to the alternate, so Team Lesnar hasn't seen him fight. Justin is a good wrestler and his goal is to finish every fight. Team Dos Santos discusses Lew leaving. Sounds like they'll miss him, but they have to move on, they say. Fight Day is actually on Tony's birthday. That's pretty cool. Tony shows up to the gym dressed in a suit and tie. That's different. Both guys promise to finish the fight by TKO. Hopefully that's true.
FIGHT- Tony Ferguson vs. Justin Edwards
Tony is 1 inch taller and has a 5 inch reach advantage. Josh Rosenthal is the referee.
ROUND 1- Justin swarms early, peppering Tony with shots. Justin is pushing the pace, but Tony is ready. They tie up for second before separating. Justin is countering Tony's strikes. Both guys are landing quality shots. Justin lands some legkicks. Justin gets a takedown, but they get back up immediately. Tony with a nice left hook. Tony is using his reach to get at Justin with punches. The pace is slowing down, but both guys are still going good. Brock yells for Tony to take Justin down. Justin with a good one-two combo. Justin gets another takedown and is on top. Justin stands up, but Tony lands a huge upkick that ends it. Damn. Justin is smooth out. Good job by Tony pulling that out. Justin had landed plenty of good shots, but then Tony crushes him with that heel upkick.
WINNER- Tony Ferguson by KO
Dana White is very impressed by this performance, as am I. Great job by both. That's a great birthday present for Tony. Justin is very upset and disappointed. I understand, but he did a good job.
The Bulls are rolling Atlanta tonight. What happened? They sure didn't look like this in Game 1. Either way it pans out they'll be a better challenge to the Heat than the old-looking Celtics. Relying on Shaq is a foolish move. What's he going to do? Slow down Boston even more then they are now?
Chuck is a jokester in the house. Hopefully he brings it in the cage. Brock says that Chuck is well-rounded, especially on the ground. Zach is very serious when it comes to training. He says that he wants to pin Chuck on the cage and finish him with knees. We'll see about that. These guys have a lot to live up to compared to the last fight. Both guys are ready to go and are predicting another stoppage.
FIGHT- Chuck O'Neil vs. Zach Davis
Chuck is 1 inch taller. The reach is the same. Josh Rosenthal is the referee.
ROUND 1- Zach gets a quick takedown, but they stand up quickly. They tie up on the cage. Zach is using his knees, like he said he would. Nice to see a guy do what he said he was going to do. 2 more knees to the body by Zach. Chuck answers with one of his own, but they go to the ground with Zach on top. They're not really doing much here. Chuck goes for a triangle, but can't get it. Zach stands over Chuck. Don't let him upkick you, that'd make you look really dumb considering you just saw a guy get knocked out by one. Chuck gets Zach down, and is on top. Zach is going for a submission and locks in a triangle for the submission.
WINNER- Zach Davis by Submission
Chuck is pissed as hell about what happened. Brock tries to console Chuck, but he's beyond upset. Dana gets Junior and Brock to talk about the Wild Card fight. Both coaches and Dana picked Justin, but he can't compete because he's medically suspended for 90 days. Justin is upset. Every other fighter they talk to wants to fight. Dana says he's not sure who really wants it. Brock says Len is his first choice, but he's not sure if he's ready. Junior and Brock are talking about their teams. Dana agrees with their choices. The Wild Card fight will be Javier Torres from Team Dos Santos vs. Chuck O'Neil from Team Lesnar. Len is confused, but the episode needs there. He's not going to take this well.
This was a great episode for fights. Tony knocking out Justin with that upkick was great. Zach getting that triangle was also great. For TUF fights, they were excellent.
NEXT WEEK- Len is pissed and the Coaches Challenge is a football competition
