The episode starts with a recap of the drama that's taken place so far this season, including wrestling Lew Polley from Team Dos Santos overstepping his role, and Brock Lesnar getting increasingly frustrated with his team's lack of winning. The opening this year featuring the fighters mugging for the camera is ok, some guys look good, but other guys look like gumps.
Back to the show, Brock is calling out his team. Len Bentley walks out because he's upset about Brock calling the team out. Brock tells the rest of the team that Len didn't leave it all in the cage. Len returns to the room. Brock admits that he got his ass kicked by Cain Velasquez and says this isn't a team sport. Both very true. Brock does his best head coaching speech. It seems like it would be pretty effective.
In the house, Len vents to Charlie Rader like a pud. He makes fun of Brock saying that Chris Cope wowed Brock. How about winning your fight, and not hoping for a third round, pal? Junior Dos Santos has fight control and chooses Mick Bowman to fight Clay Harvison from Team Lesnar. The rest of Team Dos Santos is pumped and ready for Mick to win. Lew says to Mick to win this fight because Lew says he will and to not make him look like an ass. Junior doesn't look too happy to hear that.
Looks like the Heatles are about to put away the Sixers. Bring on the Celtics. I think Miami can win that. San Antonio is making a final stand. They might win tonight, but they aren't beating Memphis 3 straight.
Lew Polley is again overstepping his role as he's trying to teach boxing and jiu-jitsu. Junior is getting more and more frustrated by that. Mick plans on beating Clay with his ground-and-pound. Clay is training with Team Lesnar. He's working on his bossing and seems to be pretty good. Chris Cope is seen watching intently as Clay is getting some one-on-one coaching. The rest of Team Lesnar thinks Chris is a narc. Clay tries to talk like a gangster, but ends up sounding like a wanna-be poser. Leave that stuff at home, dude. I mean, no one thinks you're going to throw away this opportunity just to try to stomp out Chris Cope.
Someone in the house wrote "Chris Cope is a double agent" in the sand pit. Chris is put off by that. He tries to talk to the rest of the team by the campfire. No one really speaks up. Where's all the complaints now, guys? They all soft-shoe around it and no one has the guts to call Chris out to his face. Nice. Clay, Charlie, and Len have a little BS session. Chuck joins in. I'm not liking the two-faced routine. Chris comes in and accuses Tony, who gets upset. The rest of the crew there just sit there. Tony says if he was on the street he would have kicked Chris' ass. Give me a break. What is it with this season, all the guys have to try to puff themselves up. Let your fighting do the talking.
Clay has his brother's ashes tattooed on his side. Mick wrote that "Chris Cope is a double agent" message in the sandpit. Mick is feeling very homesick. He says he'll die before he loses this fight. Clay says he needs to stay relaxed during the fight. Both guys are very confident that they'll win. That's to be expected. Both guys are ready to get in there and rip the other one apart. Mick is getting the subtitle treatment. He is a bit hard to understand. A bit.
FIGHT- Mick Bowman vs. Clay Harvison
Mick is 1 inch taller and has a 1 inch reach advantage. Steve Mazzagatti is the referee.
ROUND 1- Clay starts with some early jabs. Mick takes the center of the cage. Clay runs Mick back to the cage with some jabs and he takes the center. Mick tries for a takedown, but gets stuffed. Clay drops a few bombs onto Mick from up top. Clay jumps on top of Mick, but nearly gets armbarred. They stand up. Clay charges forward and rocks Mick with a hard right. They tie up against the cage. Mick lands a good knee to the body. They separate. Clay charges forward again, with a one-two. Clay is peppering Mick with shots. They tie up on the cage. Mick lands a few knees to the body. Clay almost takes Mick's head off with an elbow. Clay is definitely getting the better of the boxing. Mick does land a few nice jabs, though. Clay blocks a legkick and lands one of his own. The round ends, and Clay won that one for sure.
ROUND 2- Clay continues his boxing superiority. Mick doesn't have a legitimate answer for it. They tie up against the cage. Both guys are wearing essentially the same shorts. Guess they called each other beforehand and coordinated that. Like that SportsCenter commercial with the Boston Big Three. Clay slips and Mick tries to take advantage, but Clay recovers well. Mick seems to have more energy at this point. Now he's the one who's picking Clay apart. Clay's fighting back, though. Both guys are trading well. Mick's corner is screaming for him to quit backing up. Good advice, as Clay is using that to his advantage. Clay is throwing repeated legkicks. Mick goes for a takedown, but Clay fights it. They tie up against the cage again. This is a hard round to call. I'd put them in a third round just to try to get a clear winner. Looks like we have a decision, though. I would lean towards giving Mick that second round, and going to a third round to decide it. Clay hurt his hand on a Mick kick. He thinks he jammed it, he said it went numb.
WINNER- Clay Harvison by Decision
Brock is very pleased with the decision. Mick is disappointed in himself. Junior tries to console him, but Mick is very emotional. In the Team Lesnar locker room, Clay is a bit emotional himself. He thinks he broke his pinky. The bone is sticking out of the skin. That means he's out. Man, that sucks. That's some BS for him. To get knocked out of the compeition like that, that sucks. It was an all right fight this week. It had it's moments. It sucks that Clay broke his pinky like that. He's definitely out, but I wonder who is going to replace him?
NEXT WEEK- Another injury for Team Lesnar and Junior and Lew have more problems
