...OH, ONE MORE THING - PLEASE BOOKMARK US & VISIT DAILY!
The episode starts with a recap of last week's fight between Michael Johnson and Aaron Wilkinson. Georges St. Pierre is very happy with how the fight went. Mike Tyson gives Team GSP some words of wisdom. Dane Sayers was very moved by what Tyson said. Team Koscheck is shown training hard. Josh Koscheck wants his team to rebound and train as hard as they can. Koscheck keeps talking about his mindless training. They seem to be buying into it.
Sevak Magakian is complaining about Alex Caceres yelling for Michael to F Aaron up. They say it's disrespectful. Jeffrey Lentz jumps in too, also saying it's disrespectful.I don't see what the problem is. Alex and Sevak are yelling at each other. Sevak charges Alex like an idiot. Looks like one of those "Hold me back!" moments where you make sure to have people there to pull you away. That way you can look like a tough guy, while not actually having to back it up.
What a drama king. Actually, neither guy looks really good at the moment. The next day, GSP parks his car diagonally to prevent Koscheck from blocking him in again. Koscheck is trying to get into GSP's head and it isn't working. GSP is going to crush Koscheck in their fight. GSP gets to pick the fight, which is Kyle Watson vs. Andrew Main. Both guys are Jiu-Jitsu guys. Kyle thinks he has the advantage because of his experience.
Kyle is the oldest fighter in the house, and the most experienced. Kyle thinks the fight will go the ground and that he'll pound Andrew there and get the win.
Koscheck is still trying to get under GSP's skin by training in speedos. This is really lame on Koscheck's part. I don't like GSP's speedos either, but come on, man. It's not working, Josh.
Andy is getting some pointers for his upcoming fight. The assistant coaches have watched some tape on Kyle and think they've got some stuff figured out. Both guys make weight with no problem.
Koscheck has his team huddled around and is giving them a pep talk. He really wants this win. He takes Andy off to the side to fire him up.
Elsewhere, Team GSP is training hard. GSP talks with Kyle, to try to help him relax. Kyle always gets really nervous before a fight. They do a lot of rehearsal's of his entrance and getting into the cage before the fight. It's a lot of visualization. It might help Kyle.
Both guys are feeling confident. They both think they'll win. They both feel the pressure to win.
FIGHT- Kyle Watson vs. Andrew Main
Kyle is 2 inches taller, the reach is the same. Josh Rosenthal is the referee.
ROUND 1- Andy catches Kyle with a punch to the jaw early. Kyle respond with a shot of his own. Both guys are swinging hard. They clinch on the cage. Andy takes Kyle's back, but Kyle controls his wrist. We've reached a stalemate. Andy peppers Kyle with small punches. Andy keeps up with the shots. Andy kind of falls off of Kyle. They're all tied up. Kyle escapes and is on top now. Kyle throws Andy's legs to the side and gets in a good punch. Kyle is in Andy's guard now. Neither guy is doing much damage, but that's because each one is countering the other. They're both trying, though, so I like it.
ROUND 2- Andy throws some body kicks early. They trade shots before Kyle takes Andy to the mat. Kyle is in side control. Andy bucks and Kyle tries to take his back, but can't. Kyle is in half-guard now. Kyle postures up, but not a whole lot is happening. Kyle moves back to side control, then takes Andy's back. Kyle gets both hooks in on Andy. Kyle locks in a read-naked choke and Andy is done.
WINNER- Kyle Watson by Rear-Naked Choke
Koscheck is very upset and leaves the gym before the winner is even announced. Kyle thanks the coaches back in the dressing room. Koscheck consoles Andy in the dressing room. He says they got to start all over and try again next time.
The fight wasn't the best ever this week, but at least both guys tried as hard as they could. I can respect that. Kyle did a good job. I don't know if Andy will get a shot at the Wild Card fight, but he had a fairly good showing.
NEXT WEEK- Alex Caceres pulls a prank that backfires, plus Jon Fitch and Chuck Liddell visit
