We start with a recap of last week's episode, including the horrendously awful "taunting" by members of Team Bisping, which consisted of a nursery-rhyme sounding song. Not the best way to taunt your opponent. Anyhow, Team Miller is training and coach Jason "Mayhem" Miller is confident in his team. The guys are using some foam sticks to blow off some steam.
Michael Bisping has his assistants take the tires off of Mayhem's ride and puts them in his dressing room. Mayhem laughs it off, and seems genuinely impressed. It was a pretty good one. Dana White thought it was pretty funny, too. I liked it, I thought it was pretty good. Team Bisping is training now. The fighters are sparring hard. They're only supposed to be going 60%, but they soon start going all out. Several of the guys are going too far. Bisping has to step in and yell at them. Marcus and Diego are yelling and screaming at each other, Diego says he's going to kill Marcus. Cue the eyerolls. It's fighting, not a life and death struggle.
At the house, several of the guys are goofing around. Akira wants to be the center of attention. Some of the guys don't like it, others do. Akira is taking some billiards balls to the nuts. Aye. Akira starts putting a bunch of junk in people's things, like gloves and other equipment. We really don't need that, do we? That's kind of lame.
Mayhem gets to choose the next fight, which will be Johnny Bedford vs. Josh Ferguson. Josh has a sign that reads "F--- You Bedford". That really seems to bother Johnny. They engage in some trash-talking. Bisping thinks the sign is funny. Team Miller is training, and the guys are finding the junk in their stuff. None of them are too happy, and I don't blame them. Johnny says he'll knock out Josh if he stands in front of him.
Team Bisping is training. Bisping is confident in Josh and his chances to win. Josh is busting his ass during his training. He says he likes being underestimated. Bisping is working on keeping Josh close enough to strike, but not so close he can get clinched. Dustin is pissed about Akira and his stupid pranks. Dustin pours a bunch of stuff on Akira's bed. Akira is pissed. They both start trash-talking, and saying they're going to crush the other. Honestly, I really don't like Akira and his hat. He thinks he's such a badass, he better be able to back it up.
John Dodson says all his friends are on Team Bisping. It's really only Louis and Josh, but they're sharing secrets with each other. That's not good, they got a rat in their midsts. At the weigh-in, both guys make weight no problem. Bisping brings up Johnny's bad hand, then says they're all going to get crushed on Team Miller.
There's been times in Johnny's life where he's had to consider giving up fighting to get another job. He has a wife and kid. Uh-oh, Johnny refers to himself in the third person, that's never an endearing quality. They both say they're going to kick the other's ass.
FIGHT- Johnny Bedford vs. Josh Ferguson
Johnny is 5 inches taller and has a 7 inch reach advantage. Herb Dean is the referee.
ROUND 1- They trade early. Johnny grabs Josh and gets him to the ground. Nice elbow to the face by Johnny, he also lands a few other good shots. They stand up. Josh closes the distance and lands a few punches. Josh tries a kick, but doesn't have the range. Johnny clinches Josh against the cage. Josh lands a knee to the body. Johnny with a knee to the body, then another. They're swinging wild, but then Johnny gets Josh down and is on top. Johnny moves to side control. Things slow down as Johny tries to get the left arm of Josh. That backfires and Josh is able to reverse things. They stand up quickly, though, and are on the cage. They separate. Johnny gets another takedown as the round ends.
ROUND 2- They trade a few jabs. They exchange more shots. Both guys are throwing good punches. Johnny tries for a takedown, and gets it after working for it. Johnny postures up and starts his ground-and-pound. Josh ties him up, though. Johnny is in Josh's half-guard. Josh gets up. Josh goes for a flying knee, but Johnny catches him and gets another takedown. Johnny is in side control. Herb Dean wants them to work. Josh works his way into half-guard. Johnny lands some solid elbows. The round ends and it's pretty clear Johnny won the decision. Those takedowns got it, and he did more damage. Bisping is disappointed in Josh and him not listening to his coaching. I agree.
WINNER- Johnny Bedford by Decision
Josh is disappointed, but says he'll keep training hard. Mayhem and Bisping trash-talk some more. Mayhem says he wants to fight Bisping right now. The fight tonight was all right, it was nothing special. It's one of those fights that is kind of frustrating to watch, but both guys were trying most of the time.
NEXT WEEK- Mayhem starts to suspect a rat
