We start the 14th and final season of TUF on Spike. This season we have 2 weight classes, always a good thing. We also get to see Featherweights and Bantamweights, which is even better. The coaches this year are Jason "Mayhem" Miller and Michael Bisping. They'll fight later this year, and I think Mayhem wrecks Bisping.

The 32 fighters tonight all enter the Mandalay Bay Center, with Dana White standing in the center of the cage. Dana announces that the fans will vote on Best KO, Best Submission, and Fight of the Season. The winners will receive $25,000. Dana introduces Mayhem and Bisping. Some of these guys look nervous as hell. I can't say I blame them, this is a huge opportunity. There's some brothers among the group, like actual blood relatives.

Disclaimer- I might be off on some of the names, spelling-wise. Sorry, but I'm not a quick typer.

FIGHT 1- Josh Ferguson vs. Casey Dayer
ROUND 1- Josh destroys Casey in like 10 seconds. It's a hell of a knockout.
WINNER- Josh Ferguson by KO

FIGHT 2- Diego Brandao vs. Jesse Newell
ROUND 1- Jesse catches a Diego kick. Diego grabs Jesse and throws him to the ground. Diego takes Jesse's back. The separate, but Diego flies back in there and crushes Jesse with a left hook.
WINNER- Diego Brandao by KO

FIGHT 3- John Dodson vs. Brandon Merkt
ROUND 1-They both are trying to find the range. John throws a head kick, but Brandon catches it somewhat. John is pushing the action. John catches Brandon with a great body shot, and this one is over. John runs off the cage into a backflip. Nice.
WINNER- John Dodson by TKO

FIGHT 4- Dennis Bermudez vs. Jimmie Rivera
ROUND 1- Rivera starts strong, pushing Bermudez against the cage early. They separate. Rivera catches a kick and lands a nice right hand. Now Bermudez has Rivera pressed against the cage. Rivera drops Bermudez with a hard shot, but Dennis hangs on somehow. Rivera with a slam. They get back up, but Jimmie has Bermudez's back. Dennis stands, with Jimmie on his back. They separate. Both guys are landing good shots. Rivera takes Bermudez's back again. The coaches are giving Jimmie good advice. Jimmie has Dennis laid out, but their on Jimmie's back.

ROUND 2- They exchange early. Dennis drops Jimmie, then nearly DQ's himself with a knee while Jimmie was on the ground. Dennis has Jimmie's back. Dennis has Jimmie flattened out on his stomach. Dennis is dropping bombs on Jimmie until the ref steps in.
WINNER- Dennis Bermudez by TKO

FIGHT 5- BJ Ferguson vs. Roland Delorme
ROUND 1- Roland has BJ on the cage. BJ gets the trip takedown. BJ has a wildman beard. Both guys are rolling and reversing each other. Roland has BJ all wrapped up, then gets him into a triangle for the finish.
WINNER- Roland Delorme by Submission

It looks as though The Ultimate Fighter will be coming on at 10pm Eastern. That sucks. I liked it coming on at 9pm much better. It was much easier for me to review it then. Thanks, Spike.

FIGHT 6- Marcus Brimage vs. Bryson Wailehua-Hansen
ROUND 1- Bryson has Marcus on the cage before getting the takedown. Marcus rolls through, but Bryson stays on top. Bryson takes the back of Marcus, who punches Bryson in the face several times. Marcus reverses and gets up. They separate. Marcus with a legkick. Marcus clinches on Bryson and moves in for the kill. This one looks close to being over. Marcus is starting to tire, though. Marcus is teeing off on Bryson. The end of the round saves Bryson.

ROUND 2- Marcus catches a kick and keeps teeing off. The ref has to step in.
WINNER- Marcus Brimage by TKO

FIGHT 7- Carson Beebe vs. Johnny Bedford
ROUND 1- They go to the ground early, but then get back up. Carson has Johnny pressed against the cage. Johnny gets Carson off of him. They trade punches. Seems like Johnny is getting the better of these exchanges. Johnny has Carson down on the ground, against the cage. Johnny lands a good body kick. Johnny has the reach advantage and he's using it. They trade shots. Nice uppercut by Johnny. Carson is pressed against the cage. Carson is dropped by a kick and punch. Johnny finishes it.
WINNER- Johnny Bedford by Submission

FIGHT 8- Dustin Pague vs. Tateki Matsuda
ROUND 1- Both guys look very fast. Dustin blocks a Tateki kick. Both guys have thrown big kicks. Dustin spins Tateki to the mat. Dustin has Tateki's arm. Tateki is on top, but Dustin doesn't seem concerned. The round ends, it's hard to call.

ROUND 2- Tateki lands another high kick. Dustin pushes Tateki against the cage. Tateki reverse and gets Dustin to the ground. Tateki is on top. They stand. Not a ton of action in this one. As soon as I type that, there's a nice combo and Dustin is on top. Nice upkick by Tateki. Dustin gets into Tateki's guard. Dustin isn't able to do much damage, as Tateki defends well. The round ends. We have a decision. I'd give it to Tateki myself.
WINNER- Dustin Pague by Majority Decision

I totally disagree with that. That's a bunk decision. I think Tateko did more to win. At least send it to a 3rd round.

FIGHT 9- Paul McVeigh vs. Louis Gaudinot
ROUND 1- We get highlights of this fight, code for it not being the most exciting fight in the world. Maybe they were just closely-matched, though. Paul made fun of Louis and his green hair. The thing is, Paul has a Dennis Rodman quality to his air, with the colors and such. Imagine the way Rodman has his hair in his later playing days. We go 3 rounds. Louis pulls out a wicked back elbow. Paul is bleeding a gusher. Louis finishes a very game Paul.

FIGHT 10- Eric Marriot vs. Brian Caraway
We get highlights from this boring fight. All lay-and-pray. Well, whatever you have to do to get in the house. Brian wins the fight.

FIGHT 11- Josh Clopton vs. Dustin Neece. Dustin wins, we get highlights.

FIGHT 12- Matt Jaggers vs. TJ Dillashaw
ROUND 1- Tentative start. They're both trying to feel their range. TJ with a nice overhand right. TJ has a hands-low style. Matt lands a good right. TJ with a takedown. TJ is on top. TJ postures up and starts his ground-and-pound. TJ got into full mount, but Matt escaped. They stand up. TJ with a nice legkick. TJ with another takedown. TJ is in side control, and quickly works to mount. TJ with a few good elbows, then he finishes the fight with 1 second to go.
WINNER- TJ Dillashaw by KO

FIGHT 13- Steve Siler vs. Micah Miller
We get highlights of this fight, with Steve impressing against Miller. It goes 3 rounds, with Siler submitting Miller. Damn, nice.

FIGHT 14- John Albert vs. Orville
We get highlights of John winning.

FIGHT 15- Stephen Bass vs. Karsten
More highlights. Stephen Bass wins.

FIGHT 16- Brian Pearman vs. Akira Corassani
ROUND 1- Akira with a legkick. Pearman corners Akira and tees off on him. Brian pressed him against the cage. They go to the ground. Brian almost has the submission, but Akira escapes. They're up against the cage. They trade big shots. They're up against the cage again. Both guys are throwing good punches. Akira with a nice spinning backlist. Akira with a knee to the body. Akira is starting to unload on Brian with shots. Brian is taking them, though. He can only take so many before going down.
WINNER- Akira Corassani by KO

Not a bad night of fights. Lots of good finishes. There were some good fights tonight. Dana and the coaches are impressed. It was a good show all in all. The usual antics seem to be in abundance this season. We'll see how that plays out.
