Quick Picks:
Jorge Bouchat vs. Nicolae Cury- Bouchat by TKO in the 2nd round
David Gomez vs. Brett Jackowski- Jackowski by Decision
Lorenzo Borgomeo vs. Mikey Gomez- Borgomeo by Rear Naked Choke in the 3rd round
Seth Petruzelli vs. Aaron Rosa- Rosa by TKO in the 2nd round
Edson Berto vs. Conor Heun- Berto by TKO in the 1st round
Cristiane Santos vs. Yoko Takahashi- Santos by TKO in the 2nd round
Televised Fights:
Benji Radach vs. Murilo Rua- I think Ninja Rua is going to come out and by aggressive from the start. Radach's experience will serve him well but I think Rua will just be too much for him to handle. I think the level of competition that Rua has faced will make the difference and give him the victory. I think he catches Radach with an unexpected knee and finishes him off for the victory.
Prediction- Rua by TKO in the 2nd round
Gina Carano vs. Kelly Kobald- This should be a really tough fight for Carano. Kobald has a lot of experience and and is very good at both submissions and striking. I don't think this will go the distance but both fighters should be able to weather the barrage of punches and kicks that's sure to happen in the early going. I think Carano will try to keep Kobald off-balance with front kicks and look to land a knock-out blow.
Prediction- Carano by TKO in the 2nd round
Andrei Arlovski vs. Roy Nelson- I think Nelson will serve a tough test for Arlovski. Is he really back to his old form, when he won the UFC Heavyweight title? He's gotten better in his few fights but he's also had a few hiccups. I'm going to assume that Arlovski has his killer instinct back and think that he's going to defeat Nelson both standing and on the ground. I think a Pitbull flurry ends it.
Prediction- Arlovski by TKO in the 1st round
Jake Shields vs. Paul Daley- Both men are coming in with long winning streaks but Shields is considered one of the best Welterweights in the world for a reason. Daley is a dangerous opponent, however, and he could catch Shields with a hook or an uppercut and end the fight. In the end, though, I think Shields is just too much for Daley and the fight ends with a submission.
Prediction- Shields by Armbar in the 3rd round
Kimbo Slice vs. Ken Shamrock- This is a fight built strictly on name value alone. If Shamrock were 34 instead of 44 this might be an interesting fight. Ken hasn't won a fight in over 4 years. He's lost his last 5 fights by TKO, all in the first round. There's no reason to believe that this fight will be any different. Kimbo is going to dim Shamrock's lights with his first punch and then finish him off with a haymaker. I like Shamrock, but it doesn't look good for him.
Prediction- Slice by KO in the 1st round
