Brock Lesnar [photo by Wade Keller (c) MMATorch]
So far, MMATorch readers don't blame Frank Mir for leaving Brock Lesnar off of his list of best "pound for pound fighters." MMATorch Supervising Editor Wade Keller wrote a blog yesterday suggesting Mir might have had personal motivation for leaving Lesnar off of his consideration of the best American-born fighters today. Here are a few reader comments...

JOSH GOLDEN: I dont get it, maybe I never will, but why are you guys at this site so on Brock Lesnars nuts? Mir didn't name him in his PFP rankings because Lesnar is not a fighter! How can you put him on a list with GSP, Torres, Silva, etc.? He has no technical skills! He can wrestle, sit on top of you, and beat your face in better than anyone I've seen, but I hardly consider that world class MMA skills. Now let's put Brock against a Mir or Fedor or any top contender that weighs maybe 10-20 pounds more and Brock would be a joke. If he didn't have the size advantage of a behemoth no one would be talking about Brock! Wake up!
BEN MITCHELL: Brock is not even considered the best pound for pound because he lays on people and hits them. Show me some great martial arts skills "Steroid Boy" possesses. To even consider him an MMA fighter is just stupid. He makes Dana White money so Dana will keep him around. Let's see if he passes urine tests. I do not think he will pass; his testosterone level will be too high. I do not blame Mir for leaving him off the list. This is Dana’s problem now. I will not pay another $50 dollars for a pay-per-view if Forrest Griffin and Brock Lesnar are on there.
MARK: I've never heard so much utter crap in my life! Lesnar should not be anywhere near any P4P discussion, American or otherwise. Yes, he beat Randy Couture, but outweighed him by around 60 lbs. come fight night. That doesn't suggest that he is a top P4P fighter. In terms of American born P4P, you'd be looking at Miguel Torres as the number one when Mir mentioned it (37-1, unbeaten in 6 years), B.J. Penn, or Mike Brown probably number two. Then you've got people like Rampage, Jon Fitch, andyou could even make a case for Rashad (he's only ever lost to Machida, who is in the Big Four P4P with Anderson, GSP and Fedor) Nikolai Valuev is never included in P4P discussions in boxing, despite having only lost one fight, and that is because he has a huge size advantage over almost all of his opponents, not because he is a great fighter. Being considered a huge PPV draw also does not render you a P4P champion. Brock obviously has crossover fans from his WWE days, and that would be what makes him a big draw for the UFC. Finally, before you decide I'm just a Lesnar hater, I'm not, I appreciate that he has great takedowns, his hip control was great against Mir, and he can hit hard, but he shouldn't be anywhere near a P4P discussion at this stage of his career. I will, however, admit that he is, P4P, a better mixed martial artist than Hong-Man Choi, Zuluzinho, Jan Nortje or Bob Sapp.
DAVID CARLSON: I say it's Miguel torres. And I'll say that I doubt Frank Mir left Lesnar off the list out of spite. I believe there are many other better Pound for Pound fighters. Hendo, Miguel Torres, and B.J. Penn are all American born and amazing fighters. And the best P4P in genereal is Anderson Silva. He may not have been born in America, but nobody can beat him... at 185 or 205. I love Forrest and I'm sayin that.
