The EA Sports MMA video game may be off to a slow start in the sales department, but the sports game giant isn't giving up on the franchise just yet.
According to Jeff Ecker from EA, in an interview Figure Four Daily, it's a matter of when, not if, the sequel is released. He gave a very clear statement on the future of the game, saying "There is definitely going to be an EA Sports MMA 2."
He further elaborated that the plan was for the series to alternate years with the "Fight Night" boxing game series, though it's not set for that schedule just yet.
Penick's Analysis: I'm glad that EA isn't giving up on the franchise despite poor sales for this first iteration, because I highly enjoyed the game. The roster may not feature the well-known UFC fighters that will continue to drive sales of the Undisputed franchise from THQ ahead of EA, but the gameplay for EA Sports MMA provided a very fun experience and I'm very much looking forward to seeing them expand upon that in the next version.
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
