Horrible injury news out of today's Glory 15 kickboxing event from Istanbul, Turkey, as crossover kickboxer/World Series of Fighting light heavyweight Tyrone Spong broke his leg in similar fashion to what happened to Anderson Silva at UFC 168 in December.
Spong fought Gokhan Saki in a fight which is airing tonight on Spike TV on tape delay, and on one of the kicks he threw to Saki's lead leg, his leg snapped high on the shin and he fell as he stepped back on it.
The moment will be shown on the Spike broadcast tonight, which begins at 8PM ET, but you can see a .gif of the injury (warning: not for the faint of heart) via Zombie Prophet at the link below.
PENICK'S ANALYSIS: This is terrible news, and it takes out such a talented fighter. This was a title fight for Glory, and he's done quite well in WSOF thus far. He's still a promising MMA competitor when he heals up, but this is going to take a long time to come back from.
