By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief With Ken Shamrock's suspension this week due to a positive test for steroids, Bobby Lashley was in need of a new opponent for this month's mixed boxing/MMA card "March Badness." That opponent has been found and it will be Jason Guida, according to a report on Versus.com.
Guida is best known as the brother of UFC lightweight Clay Guida and for his failed attempt to make weight on the first episode of the last season of the Ultimate Fighter. He was replaced and not allowed to fight for a chance to get into the TUF house.
This will be Lashley's second fight, coming after a successful debut this past December. He of course made the transition to MMA last year after a short and successful stint in the WWE.
"March Badness" is the joint boxing and mixed martial arts card being promoted this month by Roy Jones Jr.'s compant Square Ring Promotions. It airs live on pay-per-view on March 21st.
Penick's Analysis: Well, Guida's going to be giving up a lot of weight to Lashley coming into this one, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Lashley roll through him in dominant fashion. I don't think this is at all a fight that Guida can win, but he'll get in there to get a payday at least.
