By: Alex Williams, MMATorch Contributor Sengoku 7 took place today in Japan, in the early AM U.S. time. In the main events, Satoru Kitaoka became the first Sengoku Lightweight Champion, submitting Takanori Gomi with a heelhook in less than two minutes; and, in a match to crown the inaugural Middleweight Champion, Jorge Santiago, losing after four rounds, dramatically choked Kazuo Misaki unconscious in the fifth. In the other notable results:
*Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal (3-0) showed why he is the hottest light heavyweight prospect in the sport, polishing off Yukiya Naito (who was riding a 6-fight winning streak) in the first round. Lawal's star is rising in Japan, and he appears to have the skills and charisma to be a big name in the U.S. as well.
*Sanae Kikuta outpointed Hidehiko Yoshida in a battle of the aged.
*The suspended-in-the-U.S. Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva jeopardized his ability to ever fight stateside again by combating Yoshihiro "Kiss" Nakao. Silva emerged victorious when Nakao blew out his knee early in the first.
*38-year old Greco Roman exponent Mu Bae Choi upset Dave "PeeWee" Herman via second round stoppage.
*Sergey Golyaev, who defeated Gomi in his last fight, came back down to earth with a first round submission armbar loss to Eiji Mitsuoka.
