By: Alex Williams, MMATorch Contributor Alistair Overeem shocked the kickboxing world when he knocked out Bard Hari on New Year's Eve. Almost as shocking was Alistair's size. Overeem was always huge for a 205 pounder, a weight class he competed in less than two years ago. When he fought Paul Buentello in November 2007, he weighed 224 pounds--a little smaller than Forrest Griffin when Forrest is not cutting weight. Now, a little over a year later and competing exclusively in Japan (where drug testing is non-existent), Overeem has managed to add 30 pounds of muscle to his frame: he weighed in at 253 pounds versus Hari. Here is a pictorial timeline (originally from FreeFightVideos) of Overeem's muscular development.
