By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief As Alex Williams presented yesterday, Justin Eilers, the 30 year old MMA fighter who most recently lost a bid to become the EliteXC Heavyweight Champion, died from a gunshot wound on Christmas night. It appears to be the result of a domestic dispute with a man being identified as the boyfriend of Eilers' mother, James Robert Malec. Malec has been taken into custody and charged with second degree murder.
They cite a report from KTRV that states that officers were called to the Nampa, Idaho residence around 10:45 PM MT due to reports of a domestic dispute. There was a body found with a gunshot wound in the residence that has since been identified as Eilers, and the report stated that the attempts to save his life were unsuccessful.
