Invicta Fighting Championships, the all-women's MMA organization which debuted last year, held their first internet-pay-per-view on Saturday night, and crowned their first Strawweight Champion in the process.
Invicta FC 4 once again took place from Memorial Hall in Kansas City, and was capped off by a five-round decision win by Carla Esparza over Australia's Bec Hyatt. The one-sided decision saw Esparza win each round, earning the 115 lb. Championship for her efforts.
In the co-main event, Alexis Davis continued a string of fantastic performances in her bout against Shayna Baszler. After putting forth a fantastic fight against Sarah Kaufman in a losing effort last spring, Davis has bounced back with consecutive wins for Invicta. On Saturday night, she choked out Baszler with a rear naked choke in the third round, avenging a loss from March of 2010.
