By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Edior-in-Chief There's a really cool story out of St. Paul, Minnesota's Pioneer Press newspaper from yesterday, where a 23 year-old Minnesota woman met with Brock Lesnar and his wife at their home in Independence, MN. Kelly Gustafson took down a monster 27-point buck on her family's property in Welch, MN, on November 8th. As a MMA fan, and even more so a Lesnar fan, Kelly named the deer after him as it had broken off three antler fighting off other bucks.
When she caught wind of the story, Lesnar's mother told him about it and immediately he wanted to meet the woman. Said Lesnar, "Everybody knows I'm a deer hunter, and when I read this lady named a deer after me, I said, 'That's cool. I want to meet her,'"
Gustafson this week brought her seven month old daughter in tow to the Lesnar residence to meet with Brock and his family. The article tells of Lesnar's father meeting them at the door, as Lesnar was late due to going back for his UFC Heavyweight Championship belt. "I left the heavyweight belt back at the other house and I had to drive back and get it."
This shows for sure a side of Lesnar that's not often seen, and not seen by many at that. Check out the rest of the piece in the Pioneer Press or on their website.
