Bellator is coming to you live from Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario. Tonight's card features Summer Series semifinal featherweight tournament fights.

Fight 1: Neil Grove vs. Zak Jensen

Round 1:

Jensen knocks Grove down early. He pounds on Grove. Grove turns around and gets top position and pounds Jensen. Grove goes for the ankle lock and start pounding each other from that position.
As Grove advances position he gets on top and Jensen attempts a triangle off his back. Grove gets out and pounds Jensen and the ref stops it.

Grove defs. Jensen via TKO - Rd. 1 -2:00

Fight Rating **+
Quick, sloppy, and fun. Grove seemed to be in a little bit of trouble, but he persevered. Technique was at a loss, but no loss in action.

Fight 2: Chris Horodeski vs. Chris Saunders

Round 1:

Horodeski comes out swinging and Saunders answers and then they tie up. Saunders goes fir a standing guillotine and the fight hits the ground. Saunders pulls rubber guard and works for a sub. Horodeski gets caught in a guillotine but he scrambles out. Horodeski tries to get out of rubber guard and then Saunders works his way bak to his feet. They exchange knees on the cage and Horodeski takes Saunders down. Saunders attempts a kimura from his back, but nothing. Horodeski works strikes in Saunders open guard and the bell rings.

Round 2:

Horodeski answers opening strikes with a leg kick, and then takes Saunders down. Saunders puts a guillotine on on the way down, but Horodeski gets out and starts working strikes. Horodeski pushes Saunders to the guard continues to work. The ref stands them up. They trade leg kicks. Horodeski throws a right to the body and a left head kick. Thai clinching Saunders throws knees. Horodeski pushes back and takes Saunders back down. He works body shots on the grown and tries to pass guard. He ends up in half guard. Still working for side control and the bell rings.

Round3:

Horodeski with a leg trip takedown. They work up and trade knees. They trade and then Horodeski takes him down and again with a guillotine attempt from Saunders while in half guard. Horodeski works Saunders with from the top. Saunders tries to escape and Horodeski pushes his legs aside and lands an elbow. More elbows and short fists land from Horodeski. Horodeski gets mount and works to finish. He transitions to side control and continues to strike as the bell rings.

Horodeski defs. Sands via Unanimous Decision

Fight 3: Featherweight Semifinal bout - Marlon Sandro vs. Nazareno Malegarie

Round 1:

Malegarie misses a high kick. Sandro takes the center of the ring and stalks. The clinch and release. A lot of feeling out going on. Sandro lands a jab that stuns Malegarie. Malegarie with a jab and then shoots. Sansei stuffs and strikes from the sprawl. He let's Sandro up. They work to the cage and then recenter in the ring. They trade and Sandro is landing his jab. Sandro throws a kick to the body and slips. Malegarie tries to capitalize but the bell rings.

Round 2:

Stalking, Sandro throws combos with his hands. Malegarie counters. Sandro lands a lands a left right combo to Malegarie's head. Sandro takes Malegarie down and works back up. Malegarie is swing a bit out of range and Sandro counters. Sandro pushes him to the cage and works knees in the clinch. They leaves the cage and he takes Malegarie down. They get up, and a flying knee from Sandro. Sandro gets a single leg takedown and Malegarie gets up again and he works him to the cage. The bell rings.

Round 3:

Malegarie eats a leg kick. Sandro leg kicks Malegarie and takes his legs from under him. Malegarie gets up and finally works in and lands a left hook, but Sandro counters. Sandro lands an uppercut to the chest and boxes Malegarie with ease. Sandro is landing big shots They clinch to the cage and break. Sandro keeps working combos and Sandro throws a flying knee and the bell rings.

Sandro defs. Malegarie via Unanimous Decision

Fight Rating ***
Malegarie has heart, but it was no match for Sandro's boxing. Sandro did not get the finish, but he controlled the fight from start to finish. Malegarie seemed like he just could not work out his range.

Fight 4: Featherweight Semifinal bout - Curran vs. Ronnie Mann

Round1:

Curran with a push kick. Mann stand firm. They exchanges kicks at the same time. Curran lands a flying knee. They are feeling each other out and combos from Mann are missing, and so are the counters from Curran. Curran takes Mann down and shoulder strikes him to the mat. Mann shrimps and pushes Curran up. Curran keeps on him and works to side. The bell rings.

Round 2:

Mann throws a leg kick and Curran counters with a right. Curran with the flying knee again. They throw combos with little commitment back and forth. Curran attempts the flying knee again. Mann is moving around and working his strikes and Curran is successfully countering. Again, Curran throw that flying knee. Curanderos throws two body kicks. Curran with a right and Mann counters with a jab. Curran with a knee and clinches against the cage. Mann gets him off with a knee of his own. Curran lands the knee and pushes Mann back to the cage. Mann goes for a standing guillotine. He pulse guard and rolls with the choke, and the bell rings.

Round 3:

Man seems tentative even though his corner is telling him he needs to fight like he is losing. Curran throws combos on multiple levels and man is struggling to find his distance. Mann with a counter left and right, but nothing lands solid. Curran lands a leg kick. Then a stiff jab. Curran with another leg kick and man counters with a left. Curran lands a jab and then a hard leg kick. Mann throws a hook to the body and completely misses. Curran pushes Mann back with a knee and a roundhouse. Then Mann comes forward and gets Curran down. He scrambles for Curran's back and Greta a hook in. Mann attempts a rear naked choke and transition in to a guillotine and the bell rings.

Curran defs. Mann via Unanimous Decision

Fight Rating ***/***+
valiant attempt from man, but Curran was ready. Curran often engaged with a flying knee that at the lest opened Mann up for a clinch or strikes. Exciting fight, but Mann seemed reluctant to commit to his strikes. That kept Mann out of range and barely effective.
