Dec 29, 2006 - 9:24:00 PM by Mike Jarsulic Erik Owings defeated Ed West by decision
Andre Gusmao defeated Brent Beauparlant by decision
Reese Andy defeated Jamal Patterson by TKO in Round 2
So far, I am wrong on all my predictions. Owings and Gusmao winning decisions does not surprise me that much. Reese Andy stopping Jamal Patterson in the second round is quite the upset though.
Mike Whitehead defeated Krzystof Soszynski by unanimous decision
Mike Ciesnolevicz defeated Aaron Stark by TKO in Round 3
Ciesnolevicz caught him with a guillotine choke. Quad City is up 1-0. I have been impressed with the improvement that Ciesnolevicz showed this season. He has been a real asset for the Silverbacks and makes you forget the fact that they lost Travis Wiuff.
Ben Rothwell defeated Devin Cole by knockout in Round 1
Silverbacks up 2-0.
Bart Palaszewski defeated Ryan Schultz by knockout in Round 3
Silverbacks win the team competition. A sweep wouldn't surprise me in the least at this point.
Ryan McGivern defeated Matt Horwich by unanimous decision
Chris Wilson defeated Rory Markham by TKO in Round 1
Final score for the team competition is 4-1 Silverbacks. Very unpredictable show so far. It should be interesting to see if anyone can but together a team with the ability to take out the Miletich fighters.
Renzo Gracie defeated Carlos Newton by split decision

"There's still a large contingent of people, that they just want to see these guys almost die, or the other guy almost die and come back, and sometimes fights are like that. Certainly they are. But sometimes you get technical masterpieces too, and to hate a beautiful, technical fight - you're not really a fight fan...
Diaz has a granite chin, possesses perhaps the best recovery in the sport, his pace and conditioning are second to none and he sets records with the volume of his punches almost every time he steps into the cage. Nick Diaz is simply designed to fight the way he fights, and not many other fighters are...
"There was a lot of poison going on around there and I'm really disappointed because we had a good thing going. It was a good thing and I think people's egos got in the way. Well, not people just Javier, his ego got in the way, and too many cameras in the gym and him trying to build himself up and his brand, his AKA brand...
