"I hope [Jake Shields] comes over to the UFC, it'd be great. He's got a fight coming up soon at 185. He moved up to 185... He really needs to come back to his weight class (at 170), come back to the UFC and make a run at it there... Jake's one of the guys I used to train, actually. He's come a long way with his stuff. He's done some interesting stuff -- he's got some interesting fine points with his front chokes, and things like that. I grabbed a couple of things [from him]."
-Chuck Liddell talks about TUF 11 assistant coach and Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Jake Shields and his belief that Shields should come to the UFC during a TUF 11 conference call on Monday(transcribed by MMAFighting.com).
Penick's Analysis: The more this gets talked about the more likely it's going to come to fruition. Dana White is on board for Shields to come to the UFC win or lose next month in Nashville on CBS, and considering the level of competition to be had in the UFC's welterweight division and the money he can make in the organization, Shields would be crazy not to make the move to the Octagon. With friend, former trainer and now someone he's assisted in coaching on TUF in Liddell on the same page as well, it's got to be almost a foregone conclusion at this point that Shields will make this move.
