"I just think right now in Strikeforce, they have more names at middleweight, so I decided to stick there. I'm certainly willing to go 170, but they don't have any big names to offer me. There's obviously Jay Hieron and he's a talented opponent, but I'd like to see him get a little bit more build-up first and this fight made a lot more sense. I'm just looking for big fights. If all of a sudden it gets built up at 170, I'll drop back down, but I think for now the 185-pound division is the spot to be at in Strikeforce... I kind of figured Cung [Le] would give up the belt. I don't think Cung wants anything to do with fighting top tier fighters. I expected that. I think he'll come back and fight, but I think he realized having the belt meant that he was going to have to fight top fighters now and that's not something he wants to do. I think he's going to fight guys like Frank Shamrock, so I expected that. Cung's not really fighting for the belt."

-Jake Shields talks to MMAWeekly.com about fighting in the middleweight division as well as his thoughts on former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Cung Le, who relinquished his Title last month.

Penick's Analysis: Shields has been making a habit out of calling people out for certain things, and here's another small dig at Le. He's right that there are a lot more interesting match ups for him in Strikeforce in the middleweight division, but it's going to be interesting to see how he handles the size difference he could run into with many fighters in the division when he's a natural 170 lb. fighter. If he fights out his Strikeforce contract it's possible he makes the move to the UFC and we see him back at welterweight there. Until then we'll see what he can do against Jason "Mayhem" Miller next weekend.
