You know how people like to say, "it's the cards you expect to suck that always end up being awesome"? Well, not always. UFC 122 was every bit the load of mediocrity we thought it would be. It even wreaked havoc with our contests. Due to the last minute cancellation of the Alessio Sakara-Jorge Rivera bout, which was to serve as the co-main event of the evening (still trying to wrap my head around that), we had to cancel our entire betting contest. There was just too many bets tied up in that fight, with no time for everyone to get revised bets in. As such, we only had a prediction contest on Saturday. Cambo "Rambo" Nelson is still the betting champ and Casey Vaccaro is still the #1 contender for his belt, and those gentleman will do battle this week at UFC 123.

Prediction Champion Eric Marchment did still put his title on the line, however, holding off a viciously mediocre charge from Vaccaro. Both men went an even 5-5 on their picks, but Marchment kept the strap due to a 5-4 advantage on rounds/methods. Congrats to Mr. Marchment, who, with another successful title defense, is quietly etching his name in the MMATorch Contest annals.

In the prediction pool, a four-way tie at the top between Kubi, Kort, John Hickman, and Shaun Godric Louis, with Kubi coming out on top with a phenomenal seven correct rounds and methods, and the rest finishing in that order. Kubi has a quick turnaround to get ready for his title shot against Marchment on Saturday. Full results follow, but with no Performer or Goat of the Night due to too little information to go on.
