THE TORCH: THE #1 WORLDWIDE BRAND IN COMBAT ENTERTAINMENT COVERAGE - OVER 250 MILLION VIEWS & LISTENS PER YEAR REREACHING MORE FANS EVERY WEEK THAN ANY OTHER INDEPENDENT SOURCE • VIA THE WEB, MOBILE, PRINT NEWSLETTER, AND ITUNES
Nov 17, 2008 - 10:16:41 PM By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief Over the next several weeks, we here at the Torch will be bringing you our rankings for all of the weight classes. We will tackle a new division each week until all are covered, followed by updates after every major show.
During the week, each of the staff members will bring you a blog explaining why they chose the way they did in their top 10. This week, off the heels of UFC 91, we will be starting with the heavyweight division. Each staff member picked their top 10, and the overall rankings were figured out based on placement in the top 10 as well as how many ballots each fighter was on.
Are the rankings what you thought they'd be? Are we way off? Let us know at TorchRankings@gmail.com and we'll present our Torch Nation rankings as voted on by you, the Torch readers. So enjoy this, our first set of heavyweight rankings; and look out for our staff's reasonings and explanations during the week. Next week: the Light Heavyweight Division.

I am very nervous that Carlos Condit will win on Saturday night, and that I won't be able to fight Nick Diaz this summer. Carlos Condit is a very good fighter, he can strike, he is aggressive and he has submissions...
Georges St-Pierre is the only logical choice for Sonnen, since he's made it clear to the world at large that Anderson Silva wants nothing to do with him. And since everything that comes out of Chael's mouth when hyping a fight can be taken as gospel...
