The Horseshoe

Fight 1: Welterweight: Jesse Juarez vs. Adam McDonough

Round 1:
They touch gloves. McDonough opens with a jab. They both collide throwing combos and Juarez gets a takedown. Juarez works for an arm triangle and the cage is in his way. McDonough escapes and gets back up. Jaurez gets McDonough down and works for another takedown. He gets a trip but McDonough reverse and gets mount. He takes Juarez back and works for a choke until the bell rings.

Round 2:
Juarez throws a punch but McDonough kicks is leg out and gets top control while Jaurez is turtled. McDonough sprawls and holds a front choke. He bumps his hips and puts Juarez on his back. Juarez pulls rubber guard and starts slapping McDonough in the ear. Now McDonough is in half guard. McDonough passes and throws knees to the shoulder from side control. Juarez explodes up to his feet. McDonough landed a kick that knocks Juarez down for a second. He backs up and then swarms with a combo but Juarez blocks. McDonough lands a spinning back kick to the shoulder. Juarez eats the kick and shoots for the take down with McDonough against the cage. McDonough starts striking the head and then steps over and is on top of a turtled Juarez working strikes until the bell rings.

Round 3:
McDonough kicks Juarez's leg out and gets back on top and works ground and pound. He takes Juarez's back and works for a choke. Both hooks are in. Juarez rolls around McDonough hangs on and applies a body triangle. Juarez cannot seem to get out of this position, and he is rolled to the cage. He tries to get up with McDonough on his back and he gets free. Juarez now gets a body lock and a takedown. McDonough explodes back to his feet, but Juarez takes him down again. Juarez has one hook in and starts working ground and pound. He goes for the choke but McDonough escapes. He then goes for a arm triangle that does not work. Then he goes for a guillotine and McDonough gets out and gets on top. McDonough works ground and pound for the last twelve seconds until the bell rings.

Fight 2: Welterweight: Cristiano Souza vs. Sam Oropeza

Round 1
Both athletes try to feel each other out. Oropeza throws a kick up but misses. Sousza attemps a scissor takedown and stops half way. The clinch and Oropeza throws a knee. They are locked up against the cage and Oropeza knees his way out, but Souza attacks retreating Oropeza with lefts and rights to the head. Oropeza closes distance and Souza uses that to take Oropeza down, but he winds up on bottom. They get up and Oropeza throws a kick to the body. He comes in and lands a huge right hook and Souza goes down and his leg folds back. Oropeza lands two more lefts to Souza's face and the ref stops it.

Fight 3:Welterweight: Nah-Shon Burrell vs.Andrey Koreshkov

Round 1
Koreshkov takes the center and throws a leg kick that Burrell bats off. Koreshkov lands a heavy body kick to the ribs with part of his knee catching his chin and Burrell drops and Koreshkov runs in and lands some heavy rights until the ref stops it.

Fight 4: Featherweight: Daniel Straus (c) vs. Pat Curran

Round 1
Curran throws a push kick and Straus counters with a right. Curran throws a double right. Straus throws a head kick and slips and eats a knee when he rushes in. The lck up on the cage and Curran gets a trip. Straus tries to balloon Curran over but he ends up holding him in open guard. Straus throws up an inverted triangle and Curran gets out. Then he goes for a leg lock and they scramble. Curran is in top position and Straus scrambles back to his feet. Straus goes for a guillotine and he has Curran on the ground. Curran gets out and the bell rings.

Round 2
Straus throws a kick and Curran blocks. Straus lands a hard left hook that knocks Curran down andhe swarms. Curran defends and gets up. They touch gloves after that exchange. Curran throws a kick and Straus waves it off. Curran rushes in with a combo and Straus evades most of it and takes the center of the cage. Straus throws a jab leg kick straight combo. They keep exchanging combos and resetting. Straus is in the center of the cage again and Curran lands a good body kick. Curran lands acombo and Straus attempts and misses a jump knee. Curran lands one of his own. The bell rings.

Round 3:
Straus and Curran get back into the same rhythm. Straus takes some strikes and holds up his hands to taunt. He looks to take Curran down and is stuffed. They lock up on the cage and Curran works for a takedown. Straus gets a trip and then gets a front headlock. He lands some body strikes and Curran works his way back up. They clinch on the cage and break throwing strikes. Straus then lands a big left hand. He gets in Curran's guard until the bell rings.

Round 4:
Straus comes out guns blazing and lands a left and right. He shoots and they clinch on the cage.Curran throws knees to the legs in clinch. Straus turns Curran, and they switch positions again. Te ref resets them. Straus lansd a fast jab Curran throws a kick that Straus blocks. Straus throws a kick and changes to a knee. he gets kick in the cup and the ref stops it for a timeout. Straus takes all of five seconds and gets ready to start up again. Curran throws some great jabs. Straus is landing bigger shots and Curran is waiting to counter punch. Curran throws a body kick and Straus catches it and takes Curran down and throws a left as he gets back up. They get back into the combo exchange rhythm, except this tme two punches seem to be the max as they slow down.

Round 5:
They touch gloves and hug. Then they start throwing. Strauss trows a leg kick and Curran wings a pair of hooks. Straus shoots an Curran sprawls. Curran grabs a body lock and the ref breaks them up. He calls time for too much vasoline on Curran's eye and he wipes it off. Curran lands a pair of hard knees and Straus eats them. Curran is rushing in more and throwing combos and Straus is counter punching. Straus with a push kick to the face and it misses. He shoots and Curran shrugs him off. Curran then shoots takes him down. He works takes his back and gets a rear naked choke. Straus gives the thumbs up twice. Then he taps. The ref does not see it the first time, and then he sees the taps!
