One of MMA's most experienced veterans is making his way to yet another fight promotion, as Jeremy Horn is headed to Bellator Fighting Championships this September.
The news comes from Horn himself, who posted on his Facebook page that he's got two fights lined up, the first of which will come in Bellator against season two middleweight runner up Bryan Baker in September. The second bout is a rescheduled meeting with UFC vet Jake Rosholt on October 29 at a King of the Cage event.
Horn, a veteran of over 100 fights since he began his career in 1996, was released from the UFC after an 0-3 stint from February of 2008 to January of 2009. Since that fight, however, he's won six straight on a number of events throughout the U.S.
Baker suffered only his second career defeat in the Bellator season two tournament finals when he was finished by Alexander Shlemenko in the first round. His only other loss was to Chael Sonnen in March of 2008.
Horn stated the fight would come on September 28, but his dates are likely mixed up as that is a Tuesday night, whereas Bellator runs on Fox Sports Net on Thursdays.
UPDATE: MMAJunkie.com reports that the bout is headed to Bellator 30 on September 23.
Penick's Analysis: Both of these are great matchups for Horn. He's 14 years and 110 fights into his career, yet he continues to seek out solid challenges and difficult fights. It's amazing that he's still only 34 years old, as he's been one of the single most active fighters in the history of the sport. The Baker fight is quite intriguing, and though Baker is a veteran in his own right, this is still a very tough fight for him. Despite his last UFC run, Horn's far from done as a fighter, and to see him on a nationally televised event again will be very welcome.

"There's still a large contingent of people, that they just want to see these guys almost die, or the other guy almost die and come back, and sometimes fights are like that. Certainly they are. But sometimes you get technical masterpieces too, and to hate a beautiful, technical fight - you're not really a fight fan...

"There was a lot of poison going on around there and I'm really disappointed because we had a good thing going. It was a good thing and I think people's egos got in the way. Well, not people just Javier, his ego got in the way, and too many cameras in the gym and him trying to build himself up and his brand, his AKA brand...
