Josh Thomson's Bellator debut will come on Sept. 19 on the joint "Dynamite" card with Glory Kickboxing.
The organization announced on Monday that Thomson will face Mike Bronzoulis on the card, which will air live on Spike TV with a headlining bout between Tito Ortiz and Liam McGeary.
Thomson signed with Bellator MMA last week after fighting out his contract with the UFC. Thomson said the UFC attempted to re-sign him on multiple occasions prior to that last bout, but he wanted to test his worth elsewhere. The former Strikeforce Lightweight Champion has lost three straight, and five of his last seven dating back to 2010.
He'll look to get back on track against Bronzoulis, who returns to Bellator for the first time since his lone appearance back in 2013. Bronzoulis lost to Joe Riggs on that card in the finals of Bellator and Spike TV's "Fight Master" reality series, with both fighters leaving the organization afterward.
Bronzoulis has won three straight fights, most recently capturing a vacant championship with Legacy FC in May.
