Bellator's tenth season kick off on Spike TV Friday night, headlined by the "Rampage" Jackson vs. Christian M'Pumbu tournament semifinal, drew excellent ratings for a Bellator Friday night show.
According to figures released by Spike TV on Monday, the broadcast drew an average of 880,000 viewers, peaking at 1.1 million during the night's main event fight.
The two-hour broadcast kicked off the latest season for the organization, and saw a near 100% increase in audience from the season nine premiere in the demographic of persons 18-49. It was up in all of the demos from that show as a whole.
Penick's Analysis: This is a really good number for Bellator on a Friday night. Keeping that up throughout the season won't be easy, as they've seen heavy fluctuations every season so far, but they got in an audience for the second Rampage Jackson fight. That said, his next fight is likely to be on pay-per-view, and I'm not convinced a free audience will be following them to the pay show.
