Eddie Alvarez is tired of keeping his mouth shut on things that have been aggravating him during his ordeal with Bellator, and this weekend he began unleashing a tirade on who he thinks the real problem is through these battling lawsuits: Viacom.
Promising to expand upon his thoughts on Monday, Alvarez laid down some fairly harsh claims, and took the heat off of Bjorn Rebney in the process. Here's his string of comments:
I am fortunate compared to guys like @cosmoalexandre this guy trains day and night to feed his Fam N Viacom/ spike continue to hurt him
Penick's Analysis: Expect more to come out on Monday when Alvarez is interviewed by Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour. It's not surprising to hear there's more of a Viacom backing to the Bellator side of things, because they don't want to lose one of the best fighters on their roster to the UFC. They're fighting hard because they don't want Alvarez gone. But in the process they've severely underestimated Alvarez's willingness to see this through to what he feels is right, and now he's going to continue opening up about issues he's clearly had for a while. The longer this drags out, it seems the worse Bellator and Viacom are being made to look, and Alvarez is showing no signs of stopping at this point.
