Bellator returns to Southern California on March 7 with Bellator 92, heading to Temecula's Pechanga Resort and Casino with the semifinals in both the season eight middleweight and featherweight tournaments.
"Our sold out premiere event in Southern California last month showed that this market is a great one for Bellator live on Spike,” said Bellator Chairman & CEO Bjorn Rebney. "To bring our second California event to the crown jewel of Southern California casinos, Pechanga is absolutely icing on the cake and to have such a loaded card just makes this that much better."
In the semifinals of the middleweight tournament, Doug Marshall will square off against Sultan Aliev, and Dan Cramer will meet Brett Cooper. Marshall scored a first round win over Andreas Spang in the quarterfinals last week, while Aliev defeated Mikkel Parlo on the untelevised prelims. Both Cramer and Cooper scored decision wins on the card over Brian Rogers and Norman Paraisy, respectively.
The featherweight field will see Mike Richman take on Alexandre "Popo" Bezerra, with Marlon Sandro taking on Magomedrasul "Frodo" Khasbulaev. Richman and Bezerra each scored exciting first round wins on Feb. 7, with Richman taking out fellow Minnesotan Mitch Jackson with a brutal assault after a head kick, and Bezerra scoring a submission over Genair Da Silva. Sandro, who took a questionable majority decision over Akop Stepanyan, will now meet Khasbulaev, who defeated Fabricio Guerrero with an arm triangle choke on that card.
