Next Saturday's Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu event has lost another televised fight, as MMAWeekly.com reports that Valentijn Overeem has suffered an injury that has forced him out of his bout with Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva on the St. Louis card.
This news comes just days after Herschel Walker was forced to pull out of his fight with Scott Carson on the night's main card, set to air live on Showtime from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo.
Overeem, brother of Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem, was to make his Strikeforce debut in this fight. "Bigfoot" was hoping to pick up another victory following his decision win over Andrei Arlovski in June.
Penick's Analysis: This TV card is just getting decimated a week out. The three top fights are still intact (while Walker was a selling point, I'm not considering that one of the best fights on this card), and there will be a lot of action between the Smith-Daley, Lawler-Lindland and Henderson-Babalu fights, but you can't say losing this fight doesn't hurt. That's a definite blow, and sucks for "Bigfoot," who is in a bit of holding pattern in the Strikeforce heavyweight division with the top three guys all circling each other in the media as opponents.
