STRIKEFORCE QUOTABLES: Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal breaks down his "Strikeforce: Houston" opponent Rafael Cavalcante, says he studies everyone
"It makes no difference who it is. I train for everybody in every situation. I study hard; study my opponents real hard and real smart. So to me, Feijao made sense, cause he was coming off a big win...
I know who he's training with, I know everything about Feijao. I know more about Feijao than he knows about himself. Just like Mousasi, I study everybody... He likes to keep his hands low to throw from different angles. I guess that's good for him, but it's a double-edged sword. With your hands low, you're asking to get hit... And if he's asking to get hit by me, he's going down...
I get humbled every day in training. I make sure to train with the best. I make sure I have people that are better than me in every aspect... It's about having fun and getting paid. If I'm having fun and getting paid, that's all that matters."
-Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal talks to MMAWeekly.com about breaking down his opponents and enjoying his training heading into his first title defense against Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante on Saturday.
Penick's Analysis: This is the "King Mo" I enjoy listening to. He's absolutely a student of the game, and he does extensive preparation for everyone of his opponents, and to hear him break down an opponent and break down the game is highly enjoyable. But then there's the other side that comes out when he makes statements like he did earlier this week. Here is where he shines, and it's one of the reasons he can be a successful fighter as he continues his career. Hopefully we can hear more of this "King Mo" as his career moves on and less of the character he tries to pass off.

"There's still a large contingent of people, that they just want to see these guys almost die, or the other guy almost die and come back, and sometimes fights are like that. Certainly they are. But sometimes you get technical masterpieces too, and to hate a beautiful, technical fight - you're not really a fight fan...
Diaz has a granite chin, possesses perhaps the best recovery in the sport, his pace and conditioning are second to none and he sets records with the volume of his punches almost every time he steps into the cage. Nick Diaz is simply designed to fight the way he fights, and not many other fighters are...
"There was a lot of poison going on around there and I'm really disappointed because we had a good thing going. It was a good thing and I think people's egos got in the way. Well, not people just Javier, his ego got in the way, and too many cameras in the gym and him trying to build himself up and his brand, his AKA brand...
