Overnight ratings for last night's Strikeforce event are not promising, as the show dropped 30% in overall viewers from November's Fedor vs. Rogers debut event on CBS.
The show averaged only 2.63 million viewers, down from the 4.042 that tuned in overall for the November event. While the November card peaked with nearly six million viewers for the main event in the overrun, this card was losing viewers by the end and didn't have the same hype for Henderson as they had for Fedor's debut.
It was also considerably lower than the final EliteXC event on CBS, as that event drew 4.56 million viewers on average.
Penick's Analysis: This is not a good number. The November event was lower than CBS' normal ratings in that timeslot for repeats, and this is much worse. Considering this was supposed to be their "major card" with the three Title fights this has to be nothing but a disappointment to Strikeforce. And with the card going down the way it did this cannot be anything but the end of Strikeforce on CBS.
