"[My dream event would] unite Strikeforce and the UFC, and I’d put on an event with their champions against ours, Melendez vs BJ Penn, Diaz vs GSP, Mousasi vs Machida, Fedor vs Lesnar, me vs Anderson. It would be a fantastic card!... [If I could choose between facing Anderson Silva or Georges St. Pierre] I’d pick St.-Pierre, because he weighs what I naturally weigh. Either way it’s a tough fight. GSP’s a complete fighter standing and on the ground. But that’s why I want to fight him, that’s the challenge. I want to test my skills and see what happens... I’m focused on winning a fight at a time. Now I’m focused on Dan Henderson for this fight and after that my contract with Strikeforce ends. I’ll talk with Strikeforce and the UFC to find out which one I will work for."

-Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Jake Shields talks to GracieMag.com about his dream card, wanting to fight GSP and negotiating with Strikeforce and the UFC following his fight with Dan Henderson on April 17th.

Penick's Analysis: Strikeforce can't like hearing one of their Champions openly stating that they'll consider moving on following their next fight, but it's not a new sentiment from Shields. He's said on multiple occasions he's got a desire to fight many of the UFC's welterweights, and should he lose his Strikeforce belt to Henderson a move to the UFC would be a good one. They won't hold the Hendo loss against him, as Henderson is naturally much, much larger than Shields. I'd suspect it's quite likely that Jake Shields' next fight after April 17th will come in the Octagon.
