Strikeforce is going ahead with plans for a card on January 12, and in addition to the Welterweight Championship bout between Nate Marquardt and Tarec Saffiedine, MMAWeekly.com reports that a previously scheduled Middleweight Championship bout between Luke Rockhold and Lorenz Larkin is also headed to the card.
The bout was originally supposed to happen this past weekend on Strikeforce's planned Nov. 3 event in Oklahoma City, but Rockhold suffered an injury that took him out of the event. His removal from the card, along with the loss of Frank Mir against Daniel Cormier, led to a second straight cancellation for Strikeforce.
Larkin fights for the Strikeforce title after just one fight in the division. He dropped to 185 lbs. earlier this year, taking out Robbie Lawler in July. Rockhold will defend the title for a third time, having defeated Keith Jardine and Tim Kennedy in 2012.
