3/31 UPDATE
If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's on the site today:
-The final stop on the “UFC 189 World Tour” came in Dublin, Ireland, today, and an absolutely insane crowd greeted Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor. Things nearly came to a head at the outset of the press conference, as Aldo called himself the king of Dublin, prompting McGregor to maniacally respond, then get up to snatch Aldo's title from in front of him. Aldo said after the press conference that it's the extent of what McGregor can do, and says he's going to “beat the s***” out of McGregor's face. Additionally, McGregor says he's coming after UFC Lightweight Champ Rafael dos Anjos after beating Aldo, while dos Anjos says that's a fight he won't even have to think about after Aldo beats McGregor. Head to our mobile site now to watch the full video from the press conference, the ninth episode of the Embedded series, and to get more thoughts on the crazy exchanges at the press conference, as well as McGregor and dos Anjos' thoughts on one another.
-In a couple of new Bellator fights, Patricio “Pitbull” Freire will defend his Featherweight Title against Georgi Karakhanyan at Bellator 138 in June, and Mike Richman will take on Eduardo Dantas at Bellator 137. In the UFC, Gilbert Burns makes a quick turnaround after his latest win, as he'll take on Norman Parke at UFC Fight Night 67 in May. Get more information on all of those fights on the mobile site now.
-Alexander Gustafsson this week gave his prediction on UFC 187's Jon Jones vs. Anthony “Rumble” Johnson title bout, and while he thinks Johnson hits harder than Jones, he believes Jones is going to win that fight. Catch Gustafsson's comments on the bout, along with further analysis, on the mobile site now.
-Finally today, Junior dos Santos addressed the possibility of a fight with Alistair Overeem, saying it's an interesting matchup, but that he's just wanting to get back into the cage soon regardless of who he faces.
We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
