3/20 UPDATE
If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's on the site today:
-The first press conference in the UFC's “world tour” for UFC 189 hit Rio de Janeiro today with Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor. Head to our mobile site at MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser to watch the full press conference with plenty of comments from both featherweight fighters.
-The fight reported yesterday between Ronda Rousey and Bethe Correia is official for UFC 190 in August, as both appeared together in Rio on Friday. Rousey said Correia messed up by going after her friends, and says it's going to come back on the Brazilian here in August. In other Rousey news, her teammate and friend Shayna Baszler – who fights on Saturday at UFC Fight Night 62 – thinks Rousey is a bad matchup for any fighter, including Cris Cyborg. On top of that, if and when Rousey defeats Correia, the next challenger for that title will be determined in a fight between Jessica Eye and Miesha Tate sometime in June. More on all of those stories on the mobile site now.
-Head to the mobile site as well tonight for Rich Hansen's event report for Titan FC 33, which featured several title fights on CBS Sports Network.
-There's a couple more fights booked for upcoming UFC events, with Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira set for UFC 190, and Yan Cabral vs. K.J. Noons coming to UFC Fight Night 67 on May 30. More details on both fights on the mobile site.
-Dominick Cruz believes he'll be able to return by the end of the year, as he feels his recovery is going well from his most recent ACL surgery. He says he'll have a better idea after a few more months, but thinks he'll be able to fight before 2015 is out. Catch his comments with further analysis on the mobile site.
-In news from other organizations, Bellator has announced a contract extension for Bobby Lashley, and Invicta FC has announced a headliner for their next event in Kansas City on April 24. More on those stories on the mobile site.
We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
