12/17 AFTERNOON UPDATE
If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's on the site this afternoon:
-New contributor Dayne Fox is back with a preliminary card preview of Saturday's UFC Fight Night 58 event from Brazil. Excerpt on Tom Niinimaki vs. Renato Carneiro: “If you appreciate a good duel between two grapplers, this is the match for you. Otherwise… I guess don't watch, or deal with it. Niinimaki is a longtime veteran who has been a respected grappler. Problem is, he showed that he can be overpowered and outwrestled by larger opponents. While he isn't a great wrestler, he does do a solid job of blending it in with his BJJ, which allowed him to go to the ground with renowned grappling champion Rani Yahya.” Head to our mobile site at MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser for the the full column.
-Holly Holm's injury setback was a “huge letdown” for her, and she's hoping to return strong, with a fight against Ronda Rousey still on her radar. Head to the mobile site for her comments on the injury and a future Rousey meeting, with further thoughts.
-Bellator has granted Frodo Khasbulaev his release after being unable to clear up his visa issues out of Dagestan. Get more on that situation with further analysis on the mobile site.
-A heavyweight bout between Derrick Lewis and Ruan Potts is headed to UFC 184 in Los Angeles this February. More on that bout on the mobile site.
We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
