10/1 AFTERNOON UPDATE
If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's on the site this afternoon:
-In a new roundtable today, the crew discussed whether Conor McGregor should get the next title shot at featherweight. Excerpt from Cash Norman: “Should the UFC put Conor McGregor in the next Featherweight title fight? Absolutely. McGregor has done something that Jose Aldo, Chad Mendes, Frankie Edgar, and Cub Swanson in all their years combined of mixed martial arts haven't been able to do, which is become a star. Having a star in the featherweight division fighting for the title shines a light on it. All divisions that are not welterweight or above have been largely ignored. I think part of this is the UFC's fault, but they now realize they have a guy in McGregor who can sell fights and sell that weight class.” Head to our mobile site at MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser for the full roundtable.
-A report out of Canada today suggested Georges St-Pierre has decided to come back to MMA for at least one more fight, but St-Pierre and his longtime trainer Firas Zahabi both shot that down, saying he hasn't made up his mind yet. More thoughts on his status on the mobile site.
-UFC Champ Anthony Pettis thinks he's got a lot of people to prove wrong when he returns in December, and he plans to stop Gilbert Melendez in the first round in order to make a point. See his comments with further analysis on the mobile site now.
-After his fourth straight loss in the UFC, Chris Camozzi has been cut. He announced the release today, and discussed what's next in a blog post online. See his comments with further thoughts on the mobile site.
We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
