9/22 AFTERNOON UPDATE
If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's on the site this afternoon:
-Conor McGregor doesn't see his UFC 178 opponent Dustin Poirier as the step up in competition that most believe it to be, instead saying Poirier's nothing more than a journeyman and not the best opponent he's faced. Head to our mobile site at MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser to see McGregor's disparaging comments with further thoughts on the matchup.
-Dominick Cruz is back in the cage on Saturday at UFC 178 for the first time in nearly three years, and he says it's something that he's mentally had to do for himself. More than anything else, Cruz says this return is about showing himself that he can get back, and it's something that he had to do. See his comments with further thoughts on the mobile site now.
-Speaking of Cruz, Urijah Faber still wants a third fight with his longtime rival, and believes it's something that's going to happen eventually. Catch Faber's comments with further analysis on the potential for that fight on the mobile site.
-UFC broadcaster Jon Anik has signed a new extension with the UFC, keeping him in the organization for the foreseeable future. Head to the mobile site for comments from Anik on the extension and further thoughts on Anik's role in the organization.
-Bobby Lashley appears to have his next fight set, as he said this week he'll be fighting undefeated English heavyweight Karl Etherington at Bellator 130 next month. More on that potential fight on the mobile site.
-In other Bellator news, last Friday's Bellator 125 card saw a slight decrease in overall viewership from the previous week, but the highest M18-34 rating of season 11.
We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
