9/21 AFTERNOON UPDATE

If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's on the site this afternoon:

-Dan Moore is back with his matchmaking hat on, bringing his column on the Top Fights to Make After UFC Fight Night 52. Excerpt on Mark Hunt: “There aren't a lot of visual moments in sport that look as good as one big heavyweight knocking out another. When Mark Hunt throws bombs it inevitably ends with his opponent hitting the canvas in spectacular fashion. He's 40 years old now, but when you do what he does, he could go on for another ten years. I believe he is now one big win away from fulfilling his dream of fighting for the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Last week I suggested Andrei Arlovski fight the winner of Hunt vs. Nelson. Now that it's in the bag, I stand by my pick. Make the match-up for later this year and give the winner a title shot.” Head to our mobile site at MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser for the full column.

-Cash Norman looks at the plight of the UFC's heavyweight division after November's title fight at UFC 181, and why there just aren't a lot of overly clear or legitimate options to threaten Champ Cain Velasquez. Excerpt: “Whereas it may be good to be king, it may prove difficult to find a legitimate rival to challenge him. The heavyweight division is composed of aging fighters, some with unfulfilled potential, and others with diminishing skill sets standing precariously on past hallowed glory.” Full column on our mobile site.

-Donald Cerrone discussed his goals as a fighter this past week, and why a title isn't necessarily the endgame. Instead, Cerrone just wants fans to want to see him fight every time he's on a card, and plans to keep himself busy if and when he defeats Eddie Alvarez at UFC 178. Catch his comments with further thoughts on the mobile site.

-Myles Jury believes he's doing all the right things right now in his UFC career, and believes if he continues to do what he has been doing, the UFC will have to ultimately give him a title fight. Catch his thoughts with further commentary on the mobile site.

-In our reader poll this morning, we asked readers which of the UFC 178 PPV fights next weekend they're anticipating the most. 67% are tuning in for Eddie Alvarez-Donald Cerrone, while 27% are amped up for Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor.

We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
