9/18 MORNING UPDATE

If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's on the site this morning:

-Yael Grauer's back with another Ultimate Fighter episode breakdown, this time on last night's second episode. Excerpt: “After lots of hemming and hawing over the poor viewership for the last episode of TUF, we got... a pretty boring episode of TUF. It starts off with a very excited Carla Esparza, who has no love lost for Tecia Torres - and was probably pretty excited to see her lose - followed by Felice Herrig making friendship bracelets and people squeeing about girl crushes.” Head to our mobile site at MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser for the full episode rundown!

-Alistair Overeem has his next fight set, as he'll take on the returning Stefan Struve at UFC on Fox 13 this December. Get more on both fighters into that fight on the mobile site now.

-Speaking of December returns in the heavyweight division, Todd Duffee will be back at UFC 181 after nearly two years out of action, as he takes on Anthony Hamilton. More on Duffee's absence and that new matchup on the mobile site.

-Frank Hyden today looked at the Good, Bad, and Ugly from last weekend's three major MMA events. Excerpt: “Arlovski looked completely different in this fight than he did in his last one, a horribly boring decision win over Brendan Schaub. He looked sharp and active and his punches were on point. Bigfoot didn't look very good in this fight, to be honest. He looked slow and lethargic. Arlovski ended things with some power shots. He's not in the title picture by any means, but the division is so shallow that it's possible that another win starts getting people talking about Arlovski fighting for a title shot.” Get the full column on the mobile site now.

-Ronda Rousey was asked this week which of the TUF 20 fighters she thought could be the “next Ronda Rousey” as Dana White had hyped. Rousey believes 22-year-old Rose Namajunas has all the tools to take that slot. See her comments with additional thoughts on the mobile site.

-In our morning poll, we asked readers for predictions on the UFC Fight Night 52 bout between Yoshihiro Akiyama and Amir Sadollah, who are both returning to action after two years or more on the sidelines. Responses are all over the place, with no clear consensus on how the fight will play out, and 16% simply responding that they have no idea. Seems accurate on this one.

We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
