...OH, ONE MORE THING - PLEASE BOOKMARK US & VISIT DAILY!
9/16 MORNING UPDATE
If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's on the site this morning:
-UFC Welterweight Champ Johny Hendricks probably won't be back in the cage until February or March of next year, as his coach and manager believe the main event schedule is booked up until then. Head to our mobile site at MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser for their comments on the schedule and further analysis on the next Hendricks fight.
-Fedor Emelianenko took a few subtle shots at the UFC in an interview with Michael Schiavello on AXS TV, saying PRIDE had the better fighters while he was there. He also commented on his negotiations with them, and why he never wound up fighting in the UFC. See his comments with further thoughts on the mobile site.
-Miesha Tate is fighting Rin Nakai on Friday in Nakai's home of Japan, and she says she's fine taking a bout on her opponent's turf because the fans in Japan remain respectful to outside competitors. More of her comments on that matchup with additional thoughts on the mobile site.
-Tito Ortiz continued the recent trend of piling on against former Bellator head Bjorn Rebney, saying Rebney made “empty promises” when he brought him in and “never followed through.” More from Ortiz with further comments on the mobile site.
-In our new reader poll this morning, we asked which UFC Fight Night 52 main card fight, outside of the main event, fans were most interested in seeing. The Tate-Nakai fight has received 50% of the vote, while the Myles Jury-Takenori Gomi fight is in second at 30%. Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Amir Sadollah received the remainder of the votes.
We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
