SUNDAY 8/31 MORNING UPDATE

If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's on the site this morning:

-With UFC 177 in the books, Dan Moore takes a look at what's next from the key winners and losers out of the event in Sacramento in his “Top Fights to Make” column. Excerpt on T.J. Dillashaw: “For his next fight, the UFC have two credible options open to them. Plan A has to be Dominick Cruz if the former champion marks his comeback with a good win over Takeya Mizugaki at UFC 178. If Cruz encounters problems, Plan B is a rematch with Raphael Assuncao if he beats Bryan Caraway in early October. Either option works for me, but the best choice has to be Cruz.” Get the full column on our mobile site at MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser now.

-Dillashaw was among four fighters who earned an extra $50,000 for their efforts on Saturday's card, with Yancy Medeiros, Carlos Diego Ferreira, and Ramsey Nijem all earning bonus money as well. Get more on how they earned their respective bonuses on the mobile site.

-Renan Barao's disastrous weight cut this week cost him more than just his title rematch and a shot at the title in his next fight, as he lost an entire payday as well. UFC President Dana White said Saturday night that Barao wouldn't get paid a dime this week because of missing weight and being pulled from the card. See White's comments with further analysis on that move on our mobile site now.

-Ronda Rousey apparently wants to beat Bethe Correia right now after Correia took out another of her teammates in Shayna Baszler at UFC 177. However, there are other fighters in line, with Cat Zingano at the top of that list should he win her fight against Amanda Nunes next month. More on the possibility of that fight with additional thoughts on the mobile site.

-Dana White commented on the UFC's efforts in PED testing at the moment, and how they're putting money into it and doing what they can to put a plan together. Asked whether it would be enough to lure Georges St-Pierre back after St-Pierre's latest comments on the issue, White said he had no idea, and that it's ultimately up to the former Champ. Catch those comments with some further thoughts on the mobile site.

-In a reaction poll following Saturday's event, we asked readers whether or not the UFC 177 card was worth their pay-per-view purchase on Saturday night. 53% said they simply didn't watch the event at all, 17% said they watched somewhere other than at home, but wouldn't have bought the card, and 10% said they regretted purchasing the event. Only 7% were enthusiastic about having paid for the card, while another 8% said they didn't regret it, but it was only OK.

We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
