THURSDAY 7/31 NIGHTTIME UPDATE

If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's on the site today:

-In a new roundtable today, the crew reacts to the UFC actually booking Anderson Silva vs. Nick Diaz for January. There's some skepticism, a lot of excitement, and more reasonable skepticism on the bout actually happen. Excerpt from Cash Norman: “I was so excited for this fight, I tweeted Dana White and told him I loved him. Neither Nick Diaz nor Anderson Silva are going to be in the title picture again. Therefore, these are the types of fights that should be made. The UFC made a fight that is 100% for fan enjoyment.” Head to the main listing of our mobile site at MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser for the full roundtable.

-We've got a new MMATorch Livecast now available at BlogTalkRadio.com/MMATorch. Shawn Ennis and I review UFC on Fox 12, and break off into a number of tangents on current events in the world of MMA.

-Speaking of Diaz, he commented this week on his return, and why he didn't feel he was ever fully retired. He also says again that fighting isn't something he enjoys doing, rather it's something he feels he has to do. Catch his comments with further analysis on the mobile site.

-Jon Jones suffered a cut in training this week, but it won't affect his matchup with Daniel Cormier in September. Head to the mobile site to see the cut before and after stitches, with some further thoughts on the minor injury.

-UFC Champ Chris Weidman this week discussed his fight with Vitor Belfort, and why he'll be disappointed if he doesn't score a stoppage victory over the challenger at UFC 181 in December. See his thoughts on that fight with added commentary on the mobile site now.

-Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal went off on former Bellator head Bjorn Rebney in an interview this week, calling Rebney a “bitch” and saying he'd “put them hands on him” if he saw him again. It's a heated tear down of his former boss, but not without merit. See his comments with further analysis on the mobile site now.

-After failing his drug test at UFC 175, Kevin Casey posted an apology to Twitter, and said he made a bad decision while trying to cut weight for his bout on the card. Head to the mobile site for his apology and added thoughts.

-A bantamweight matchup between Iuri Alcantara and Russell Doane is the latest addition to UFC Fight Night 51 in Brasilia in September. More info on both fighters in the mobile site now.

We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
