TUESDAY 7/29 AFTERNOON UPDATE

If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's on the site this afternoon:

-Anderson Silva vs. Nick Diaz is indeed happening, as Dana White announced on Tuesday that the fight has been signed for UFC 183 on January 31, 2015. Silva will be returning 13 months after snapping his leg against Chris Weidman at UFC 168, while Diaz returns for the first time since his loss to Georges St-Pierre at UFC 158. Head to the main listing of our mobile site at MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser for more on the fight and added thoughts on the matchup.

-Daniel Cormier discussed how his knee is feeling this week into UFC 178 this September, and said that he'd be disappointed in Jon Jones if the Champ didn't go after the injury. After all, he argues, he'd be remiss not to do anything in his power to capture the title, and he expects nothing less from Jones in trying to retain it. Catch his comments with further analysis on the mobile site now.

-Joe Riggs re-signed with the UFC earlier this month for a return fight in September against Paulo Thiago. Well, that won't happen, as Riggs accidentally shot himself while cleaning his gun, leading to hand and thigh injuries which have taken him out of the event. More on that situation with a statement from the UFC on the mobile site now.

-Matt Brown is among three fighters out up to six months after UFC on Fox 12, with Hernani Perpetuo getting an indefinite medical suspension from the California State Athletic Commission. The full list of suspensions is available on the mobile site now.

-Finally this afternoon, Rashad Evans says he's targeting a February return to the Octagon, and he explained why he won't be fighting teammate Anthony “Rumble” Johnson in the UFC. See his comments with further analysis on the mobile site.

We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
