THURSDAY 7/24 EVENING UPDATE

If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's on the site today:

-More big news hit for the week tonight, as Nick Diaz has signed a new extension with the UFC, and will officially return early in 2015. Though the targeted fight seems to be against Anderson Silva, nothing is yet official for his first fight back. Regardless, after 16 months of self-imposed exile, Diaz is on his way back. More on the signing, with Diaz commenting on a potential Silva fight, available in the main listing of our mobile site by visiting MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser.

-UFC Featherweight Champ Jose Aldo is recovering from injury right now, but the UFC is hoping he'll be ready to fight Chad Mendes by this October. His manager Andre Pederneiras says it's too early to commit to that timeframe, and he's also commented on the possibility of the UFC creating an interim title if Aldo can't fight by then. Further comments and analysis on the situation in the main listing.

-Daniel Cormier is getting his shot at Jon Jones in September, and on Thursday he discussed his thoughts on finally getting a chance to face Jones in the cage. Head to the main listing for some of his thoughts with further analysis.

-Anthony “Rumble” Johnson made a successful UFC return in April, and he hopes to continue his rise up the light heavyweight ranks on Saturday when he fights Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. This week he commented on what took him so long to move weight classes despite missing weight several times in his last UFC stint. Check out his comments with further thoughts in the main listing.

-The rematch between Johnny Bedford and Rani Yahya has gotten another date, and they'll fight at UFC Fight Night 51 in Brasilia this September. More on that fight in the main listing now.

-Speaking of that event, it's one of four cards coming to Brazil from now until the end of the year. In addition to the Sept. card, UFC 179 hits Rio in October, and Fight Night cards hit Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo before the year is out. More on the remaining Brazil cards in 2014 in the main listing.

We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
