THURSDAY 7/24 MORNING UPDATE

Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's on the site this morning:

-The UFC's debut in Halifax, Nova Scotia, comes on October 4, and the UFC Fight Night event might have its main event in Rory MacDonald vs. Tarec Saffiedine. The welterweight bout is being targeted for the event, though it's not yet signed. -In an odd booking, Joe Riggs, the winner of Bellator and Spike TV's “Fight Master” series last fall, is returning to the UFC in September, as he's replacing the injured Mike Rhodes against Paulo Thiago at UFC Fight Night 51. More on Riggs' first UFC bout in nearly eight years on the mobile site now.

-Movie star and pro wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has a number of connections to the MMA world as both a fan and friend of several fighters. He was interviewed in the most recent UFC Magazine, and discussed a number of things from Brock Lesnar to Rousey vs. Carano, Dana White, and more. Check out his comments with some further thoughts in the main listing.

-In our morning poll, we asked readers whether or not they felt Chael Sonnen's two year suspension with no monetary fine was an adequate punishment from the NAC. 28 % think it's not even close, as he's already retired and the two years essentially doesn't mean anything. 16% think it was a start, but not quite enough, and the other 56% believe it was fair given he'd already lost his job at Fox.
